TFF announces footballers involved in betting

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has announced the names of 1,024 footballers identified as having engaged in betting as part of an investigation into professional leagues, and has referred these individuals to the Professional Football Discipline Committee (PFDK).

In a written statement issued by the TFF, it was stated: "It has been decided that 1,024 footballers, who were determined to have engaged in betting as part of the investigation conducted by the Turkish Football Federation into professional leagues, shall be referred to the PFDK with precautionary measures effective from 10.11.2025, in accordance with Article 57 of the Football Disciplinary Instructions."

Due to the referral of 1,024 footballers to the PFDK with precautionary measures, negotiations have been urgently initiated with FIFA to grant an additional 15-day transfer and registration period, exclusively at the national level, in addition to the 2025-2026 winter transfer window, to allow clubs to fill gaps in their squads.

With the decision of the TFF Board of Directors dated 10.11.2025, it has been decided to postpone the match fixtures of the TFF 2nd League and TFF 3rd League by 2 weeks. TFF Süper Lig and TFF 1st League matches will continue to be played as previously announced. The disciplinary referral procedures for 47 footballers, who were observed to have engaged in betting activity only once, will be evaluated within the framework of new evidence and information to be obtained as a result of the responses from relevant institutions, in order to avoid irreparable damages. Correspondence between the Turkish Football Federation and official institutions is ongoing, and the investigation will be expanded and continued based on the responses received. The 1,024 footballers referred to the PFDK in accordance with Article 57 of the Football Disciplinary Instructions are listed below."
