It has been claimed that the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has applied to FIFA for a replay of the match played against Paraguay.

According to a report in the Sabah newspaper, the TFF took action before FIFA due to an incident that occurred in the 45th minute of the Paraguay match. It is alleged that during the match, a Paraguayan player picked up the referee's watch that had fallen to the ground and put it on his own wrist.

Following this development, it was claimed that the federation applied to FIFA with a request for the match to be replayed.

NEGATIVE RESPONSE FROM FIFA

According to the information provided in the report, FIFA did not accept the TFF's request for the match to be replayed.

The decision stated that the incident in question did not prevent the referee from performing his duties and that there was no situation that would require the match to be replayed.

In its assessment, FIFA pointed out that the referee was using a second watch as a backup.

It was reported that the response sent by the organization to the TFF included the following statements: "The instructions are clear. There is some validity to your opinions and findings, but this situation does not support the thesis that the referee was unable to perform his duties or that it created a vulnerability. Since the referee had a second watch, this behavior does not leave room for a vulnerability. The second watch eliminates this situation."
