According to an exclusive report by Sports Digitale Editor-in-Chief Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Gözübüyük requested his own team for the VAR room, but the TFF rejected this request. Negotiations stalled following the Halil Umut Meler incident, and Gözübüyük left Istanbul on December 9.
