Hasan Arat's first comment on TFF's foreign VAR decision! 'For Beşiktaş's match...'

Beşiktaş President Hasan Arat made statements regarding the sports agenda during the holiday celebration ceremony held at Tüpraş Stadium.

"WE EXPECT ONE FOR THE NEXT MATCH"

Evaluating the TFF's foreign VAR decision, Arat stated, "I welcome the implementation of foreign VAR. They haven't assigned a foreign VAR to Beşiktaş's match, but we expect one for the next match."

"BEŞİKTAŞ HAS ALWAYS BEEN PERSISTENT REGARDING FOREIGN REFEREES AND VAR"

Hasan Arat expressed that they want positions and VAR conversations to be shown in stadiums during matches, and added the following:

"They need to start trials for foreign referees in matches before this season ends. The biggest problem in Turkish football right now is the referees and video assistant referees. They are under great pressure and can make very big mistakes. The leaking of the meetings held to the media is one of the most critical points in Turkish sports history. Everyone has to be transparent. I believe it would be right for foreign referees to come from leagues like Germany, France, Italy, and England. This brings competition. And this competition ensures continuity. As Beşiktaş, we have maintained our persistence on this issue from the beginning. Beşiktaş has always been persistent regarding foreign referees and VAR. We also think this will be very educational. We believe UEFA has a certain rotation plan for this. A similar version of this was tried in Croatia with German referees this season and yielded very successful results. These debates must end. The public is tired of this. In the last 4 months, very major problems rarely seen in Turkish sports history have been experienced."

"WE ARE OF THE OPINION THAT IT SHOULD BE HELD EARLIER THAN JULY 18"

Hasan Arat expressed that they want the TFF elections, which were announced for July 18, to be moved forward.

Touching on the problems in Turkish football, Arat said, "We are of the opinion that the TFF elections should be held much earlier than July 18. All clubs have started to submit their signatures for this. We will also complete our signatures on Monday. Beşiktaş's position remains the same. We will not hesitate to express our views regarding institutions regardless of individuals."

"TFF MUST MOVE TOWARDS A MORE DEMOCRATIC ELECTION"

When asked about his meeting with UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin in recent days, Hasan Arat evaluated, "Beşiktaş must always be in good relations with its most important business partner, UEFA. We discussed Beşiktaş's future plans and projects, and the problems in Turkish football. They explained the practices they implemented in VAR to us. The events that took place created a problematic image abroad. Turkey must overcome these problems, renew itself, and move towards a more democratic election in the TFF. The election must have multiple candidates, and boards should come through elections, not appointments. When they come by appointment, they look to a president's mouth. Competition must be created there. This will bring quality. Very large investments are being made in football in Turkey. No one wants these to be wasted in this way. We will continue to be pioneers in this regard and state our thoughts."

When asked if they have a candidate for the TFF election, Arat said, "There is a Clubs Association meeting on Tuesday. We will bring the names we are considering to the agenda. As the Beşiktaş community, we will be very active in these elections. Beşiktaş will put forward its own values both in the boards and in the management."

"OUR PERFORMANCE IN FOOTBALL MUST IMPROVE"

The president of the Black-and-White club said that their performance in football must improve.

Regarding the football team, which has fallen 37 points behind the leader in the Süper Lig, Arat expressed his opinion, "Our performance must improve. Beşiktaş must play better. We must win the Turkish Cup. We are a good team, but we are going through bad days. I think we will overcome this as a community."
