As the search for a new manager continues at Trabzonspor, club president Ertuğrul Doğan has responded to claims regarding names linked to the position. Doğan stated that no talks have been held with domestic managers and that efforts are focused primarily on foreign candidates.
Expressing that the process for the new manager has developed unexpectedly, Doğan said, "It looks like it will be a foreign manager. Our efforts are in that direction. We have no meetings with the domestic names mentioned. There are managers we are in contact with, planning with, and from whom we have requested reports regarding the team."
Speaking about Antonio Conte, Fatih Terim, Şenol Güneş, Abdullah Avcı, and Arda Turan, who have been linked to Trabzonspor in recent days, Doğan firmly rejected the claims. Doğan stated, "Conte is being mentioned, but I have never spoken to him in my life; we don't even know each other. Fatih Terim's name is coming up, but he is not on our agenda. We have championship-winning coaches like Şenol Güneş and Abdullah Avcı, but we have no such agenda. Arda Turan is already in charge of a team," he said.
Emphasizing that they will not act hastily in selecting a manager, Doğan noted that they want to make a decision that minimizes the possibility of the new arrival failing. Stating that Trabzonspor is obligated to compete and target trophies, Doğan added that the team must also achieve success in Europe.
Touching on the transfer agenda, Doğan stated that Franculino Dju is one of the priority players for the scouting team and that they have high expectations for the young footballer. President Doğan denied claims regarding Paul Onuachu's departure, saying, "There is no agenda for Onuachu to leave. He is the top scorer of this league; no such situation exists."
Doğan also noted that transfer efforts will continue, adding that there may be new developments within Turkey in the coming days and that missing positions will be filled.
