The National Team will face the winner of the Poland-Italy match in the final tomorrow.
The crescent-and-star team won the first set of the semi-final match played at the Sinan Erdem Sports Hall 25-20, thanks to the effective performances of Eda Erdem Dündar and Melissa Vargas.
The national team, which also started the second set well, caught a 3-0 run with a block by Zehra Güneş: 7-3. Serbia, which recovered afterwards, equalized the score following a 3-meter line violation by Vargas:
12-12. The crescent-and-star team then regained their composure and extended the lead to 6 points towards the end of the set with a spike by Eda Erdem Dündar: 23-17. The national team made no mistakes and won the second set of the match 25-19. Additionally, after Turkey took a 2-1 lead in the second set, Serbia head coach Zoran Terzic used his "challenge" right. After the point was awarded to Turkey again, Terzic, who continued his protests, was penalized with a yellow card by the match referee.
Backed by the support of the fans, the crescent-and-star team started the third set with a 4-0 lead following a spike by Vargas. Continuing their dominant play against their opponent, Turkey extended the lead to 7 points with a placement shot by Eda Erdem Dündar: 10-3. Maintaining their effective performance in attack, the national team brought the score to 20-14 with a placement shot by Elif Şahin. Winning the third set 25-20 as well, the national team left the match with a 3-0 victory.
