In the UEFA Nations League semi-final, Spain faced France at the Stuttgart Arena. The match, officiated by English referee Michael Oliver, began at a high tempo. Spain took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute with a goal from Nico Williams, and three minutes later, Mikel Merino found the back of the net to make it 2-0.
With no further goals in the first half, Spain headed to the locker room with a 2-0 lead. Luis de la Fuente's side, who also started the second half quickly, were awarded a penalty in the 51st minute after Yamal was brought down in the penalty area. Stepping up to the spot in the 54th minute, Yamal sent the ball into the net to extend the lead to three.
In the 55th minute, Pedri put Spain 4-0 ahead. France was awarded a penalty in the 58th minute after a foul by Pedro on Kylian Mbappe inside the penalty area. Mbappe took the penalty in the 59th minute, scoring France's first goal.
