Tiger Woods, one of the legendary names in the American golf world, was released on bail after being held in custody for eight hours due to a traffic accident he was involved in in the Jupiter Island area of Florida. The 50-year-old PGA champion was apprehended by authorities after the vehicle he was driving collided with a truck and flipped over.

In a statement made by the Martin County Sheriff's Office, it was stated that Woods was arrested on charges including "driving under the influence" (DUI), property damage, and refusal to submit to mandatory testing. Sheriff John Budensiek reported that police at the scene suspected Woods was not under the influence of alcohol, but were evaluating whether he might be under the influence of a different substance.

It was learned that Tiger Woods, who had to crawl out of his vehicle after the accident, tested clean for alcohol but refused to take a urine test. The famous athlete, who was held at the Martin County Jail for approximately eight hours following the incident, was released after bail was paid.

US President Donald Trump also commented on the accident, stating, "I am very sad. There was an accident. He is going through a difficult situation. An accident happened, that is all I know. He is a very close friend of mine. A great person."

Woods, who has been involved in a similar traffic accident before, was seriously injured in 2021 in Los Angeles when his vehicle went out of control and hit a median. In that accident, fractures were detected in his right leg and foot.
