Tolunay Kafkas: Foreign referees should be assigned to all critical matches

Starting his remarks by noting that they have had a good style of play for the past 3 weeks, Kafkas said, "We controlled the majority of the game with and without the ball. I didn't say anything about referee decisions last week. The same situations are not called for us. It is not right for the referee to review for 10 minutes and for the game to be delayed this much. I am not asking for anything for myself. I am 56 years old and have been in this business for 40 years. I am not asking for anything for my own benefit. The same situations are not called for Anatolian teams. The main issue here is that decisions are made late," he expressed.

WE WILL FIELD A FULL SQUAD FOR THE TRABZONSPOR MATCH

Evaluating the Turkish Cup semi-final match they will play against Trabzonspor, Tolunay Kafkas said, "It is a 2-legged match. The score we get in Trabzon will not be enough for us. Trabzonspor is a good team. They want to win the cup. It will be a good match. At least we have no missing players. If there are no problems, we will field a full squad for the match," he said.

FOREIGN REFEREES SHOULD BE ASSIGNED TO ALL CRITICAL MATCHES

Responding to a question about the appointment of foreign VAR referees to some matches in the Süper Lig, Kafkas replied, "Is any match this week less important? Every match is difficult in its own right. I said it last week; you need to set the right foundation. If the right foundation is established, our referees can do it too. If a decision has been made, foreign referees should be assigned to all critical matches. There is no such thing as a match being more or less critical," he answered.
Tolunay Kafkas said that 42 points collected at the end of the league would be enough to stay in the league, but that this could change depending on the situation.
