Total debt of the 'Big Four' rises to 85 billion liras: Galatasaray is the only club to report a profit

The financial statements of Turkish football's leading clubs—Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, and Trabzonspor—have revealed that the clubs are struggling with high debt burdens and operating losses.

According to data compiled from the financial status reports submitted by the four clubs traded on Borsa Istanbul to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), the total debt reached 85 billion liras as of May 31. It was noted that this amount is equivalent to approximately 1.6 billion euros based on the exchange rate at the end of July.

During the same period, the total loss resulting from the core operations of the four clubs rose to 24 billion liras. Galatasaray was the only team among the clubs to report a net profit.

GALATASARAY REPORTED A PROFIT, FENERBAHÇE'S LOSS IS 4.2 BILLION LIRAS

Galatasaray's revenue was recorded at 20.7 billion liras. While the yellow-red club's core operating loss was 3.3 billion liras, its total assets rose to 43.8 billion liras. Galatasaray, whose total debt decreased to 26.7 billion liras, closed the period with a profit of 608.6 million liras.

Fenerbahçe's revenue was 13.6 billion liras. The yellow-navy club recorded an operating loss of 8.8 billion liras, while its total debt was announced as 23.9 billion liras. The club's net loss stood at the 4.2 billion lira level.

Beşiktaş generated 7.03 billion liras in revenue. The black-white club's core operating loss was 7.7 billion liras, and its total debt was 23 billion liras. Beşiktaş's period loss was recorded at approximately 1.3 billion liras.

Trabzonspor's revenue was announced as 4 billion liras, with a core operating loss of 4.2 billion liras. While the burgundy-blue club's total debt decreased to 11.4 billion liras, its net loss was approximately 1.98 billion liras.
