Trabzonspor's Fountas: That trophy is coming to Trabzon!

In the first leg of the Ziraat Turkish Cup semi-final, Trabzonspor defeated Fatih Karagümrük 3-2 at home. The goals for the burgundy-blues were scored by Edin Visca, Stefano Denswil, and Taxi Fountas.

Following the match, Berat Özdemir, Denswil, and Fountas evaluated the victory.

Berat Özdemir said, "The first half did not start as we wanted. In the second half, despite being down to 10 men, we showed incredible team spirit. Every player acted selflessly. We will go into the second leg with an advantage. I hope this desire and ambition continue. I don't know anything about my future. Whether I am here or not, I love Trabzonspor. I hope for the best."

Stefano Denswil stated, "It is not very common for two center-backs to pass to each other and score, but apparently today was that day. We secured an important victory. After we were reduced to 10 men, things became difficult for us. I am proud of the team. Everyone did their best. It was a great win for us. Everyone is aware that we are fighting for 3rd place and that we want to lift the cup. Our most important goal throughout the season is the cup. It will be very important for us. We have one more match ahead of us. We will reach the final with an important result in that match. This cup is an important path for the European Cup. We will continue on our way for this."

Speaking about his injury, Fountas said, "It is not a very bad injury. My condition is not too bad; we have a great doctor. So, there is no problem. The important thing was to win today. Contributing to the team with an assist and a goal is important for me. If you ask me, I would rather lift the cup than score a goal or provide an assist. We have another 90 minutes ahead of us. That trophy must come to Trabzon. It is very important for us; we want to gift this cup to our fans. Whenever our coach plays me, I try to do my best. Of course, our coach makes the decisions. When I am on the pitch, I help my teammates as much as I can."
