U.S. President Donald Trump will take his place in the protocol stands for this historic match. The White House press office announced that President Trump will personally attend the event at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Trump will attend the FIFA reception to be held at Trump Tower in New York one day before the final, adding, "President Trump will share in the excitement of football by watching the World Cup final match, which will be played on Sunday, July 19, in person."

This confirms the previous statement by FIFA President Gianni Infantino that he would present the championship trophy alongside Trump. Following the grand final, the two leaders will jointly present the trophy to the winning team.

The World Cup final holds special significance for President Trump. Having not attended any tournament matches during his presidency to date, this will be the first time Trump watches a World Cup match from the stadium. Known for his interest in sporting events, the U.S. leader has previously attended many prestigious competitions, including the Super Bowl, the U.S. Open Tennis Championships, the Daytona 500, the Ryder Cup, UFC events, and the NBA Finals.
