Uğurcan Çakır bids farewell to Trabzonspor

Trabzonspor team captain Uğurcan Çakır has released a farewell message, stating that he has decided to evaluate an offer from the yellow-red team. In his statement, Çakır used the following expressions:

"Writing these lines today is not easy for me at all. I have to make perhaps the most difficult statement regarding my childhood love, my home, Trabzonspor, to which I have given my years, my efforts, and my dreams. I grew up on the streets of this city, I gave my heart to this crest. Every time I put on this noble jersey, in every match, in every moment, I felt the pride of adding another brick to the glorious history of Trabzonspor.

We lifted trophies, we experienced championships, we cried together, we laughed together. The bond we built with you is too special to be described in words. However, life sometimes tests people with difficult decisions.

We are going through such a period for me as well. I want to play in the Champions League, take a step into a new adventure with my family, and walk toward new goals in my football career. For this reason, I have decided to evaluate the offer from Galatasaray."

Stating that Trabzonspor Club President Ertuğrul Doğan wanted him to stay with the team, Çakır continued his statement as follows: "Our president, Ertuğrul Doğan, insisted that I stay with the team by putting a new contract in front of me and offering a significant improvement in my salary.

However, I clearly and sincerely expressed to him that both my family and I expect understanding for a new excitement and a new career plan. I know, it is not easy. But while leaving Trabzonspor, I want to bid farewell with my head held high, by ensuring the highest transfer fee in Turkish football history, and by always maintaining my upright stance. I am grateful to our president, our board of directors, my coaches, my teammates, and most importantly, to you, the great Trabzonspor fans, who have given me endless support until today.
