Fenerbahçe Club presidential candidate Sadettin Saran made statements to members of the press during the extraordinary elective general assembly. However, when he stepped up to the microphone, Saran forgot his speech and asked those next to him, "What were we going to say?" He continued his speech after receiving the response from his team: "Today is Fenerbahçe's holiday, trust me."
In his statement at the general assembly held on the former Kenan Evren High School plot near the Chobani Stadium, Saran said, "I thank you all. Today is Fenerbahçe's holiday. We are here for Fenerbahçe. Not for Mr. Ali (Koç), nor for me. What matters is that there is high participation. Let us show our own splendor. Let us show it not only to ourselves but also to the outside world. That is why I call today a holiday. I hope it will be the first day of change. I thank everyone who did not believe the rumors, did not believe these low blows, and showed me their favor. I also thank you; it is good that you are here."
