Armed attack on former footballer Serhat Akın

Former national footballer Serhat Akın announced in a post on his social media account that he was the victim of an armed attack and was wounded in the foot. Following the attack on Akın, statements were issued by Fenerbahçe and Acun Ilıcalı.

Former Fenerbahçe footballer and current football commentator Serhat Akın has been the victim of an armed attack.

Akın was shot in the feet as he was leaving a program, collapsing to the ground after being wounded, while the attacker or attackers fled the scene.

Akın shared the news of the attack on his social media account, stating, "They shot me in the feet after the program; our final word is Fenerbahçe." The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.

 

Following the derby match where Fenerbahçe lost 3-1 to Galatasaray, Akın had criticized Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç with harsh language during the program where he serves as a commentator and had mentioned that he had been threatened.

STATEMENT FROM FENERBAHÇE REGARDING SERHAT AKIN

Fenerbahçe issued a statement following the armed attack on former national footballer Serhat Akın, who also wore the yellow-navy jersey for a period.

In the post made on the club's official social media account regarding the matter, it was stated, "We condemn the armed attack on our former footballer Serhat Akın. We convey our best wishes for a speedy recovery. We expect the perpetrators to be held accountable before justice as soon as possible."

ACUN ILICALI ALSO SHARED A POST ABOUT AKIN

Ilıcalı stated in a post on his social media account, "I strongly condemn the armed attack on Serhat Akın and wish him a speedy recovery."
