Galatasaray's 25th championship celebrated in Senegal
During the celebration program held in the garden of Turkey's Embassy in Dakar, a 30-meter Galatasaray flag was hung on the embassy building.
At the event hosted by Turkey's Ambassador to Dakar, Nur Sağman, fans sang songs and danced while holding Galatasaray flags.
Stating that they were celebrating Galatasaray's 25th championship, Sağman said, "It is wonderful to share this enthusiasm together. We have decorated our embassy with yellow and red colors. We are sending a bundle of love from Senegal to all of Galatasaray."
Galatasaray Congress Member and businessman Aşkın Demir thanked Ambassador Sağman for opening the embassy garden for the championship celebration and spoke as follows:
"Last year, we celebrated our championship in front of the largest statue in Senegal. This year, we are celebrating in our own home, in the garden of our embassy. As President Dursun said, Galatasaray has earned its 5th star before others could even attach their 4th. Hopefully, we will also earn our 6th star. We will see successful days in Europe again."
Turkish Maarif Foundation Senegal Representative Enes Yörük also stated, "It is a great honor for us to celebrate our championship at the other end of the world, beyond the continents, on Turkish soil, at our embassy. We celebrated our 5th star with everyone who loves Galatasaray. We are very happy."
Senegalese social media phenomenon Moustapha Ndiaye, known as "Musti Kusti," emphasized that Galatasaray is his childhood love and expressed that he was very happy to have come across the championship celebration while in Dakar for vacation.
Fan Muhammed Burak Kutluğ also said, "May our 5th star be auspicious. Even though we are far away, our hearts are always with Galatasaray."
