Serhat Akın releases video on 'gambling and promissory note debt' claims: 'May everyone forgive me'

Addressing his fans and those curious about his condition in a video recorded from his hospital bed, Serhat Akın described the process he has gone through since being shot and thanked those who sent him get-well wishes. Stating that he trusts the authorities to punish the perpetrators, Akın also reacted to the 'gambling debt' allegations that were put forward regarding the shooting.
Speaking about the attack, Akın said, "This bullet was not just fired at me, but at Turkish football."

We have not been toppled, we will continue to say what we know to be true, and very sad events have occurred... I was subjected to a treacherous attack after the program. I looked the attacker in the eyes and stood tall. The subsequent attack was even heavier for me; the allegations of gambling and promissory note debt were extremely ugly and heavy.
I suppose they were going to say, 'He was shot because of a gambling debt, it serves him right.' I never had a gram of doubt that our state would handle this matter. I leave those who slander me to their own consciences.
After I was shot, I asked about the condition of my friends and brothers who were with me. The phrase 'My last word is Fenerbahçe' that I used in my post and message did not contain any hidden message; I had been hit by three bullets.
To those who ask why a Fenerbahçe jersey is hanging behind me, I am not going to hang a Celtic jersey, am I? It is the team I love and have given my heart to behind me... I cannot say anything to those who did not come, may they be well. I have no resentment or hard feelings; it seems people mature even more during this process, but I thank those who did not leave me alone very much.
