Vincenzo Montella explains why Cenk Tosun was not included in the preliminary squad

A National Football Team Head Coach Vincenzo Montella has explained the reason why Beşiktaş striker Cenk Tosun was not included in the preliminary squad.

Speaking to Milliyet columnist Attila Gökçe, Montella responded to criticisms regarding his squad selection and explained why the Beşiktaş striker was left out with the following words:

"Let no one be mistaken about Cenk Tosun. We have benefited greatly from Cenk in the National Team. He eased our path with the goals he scored in the Latvia match. Our door is not closed to anyone. Cenk and our other players will be invited when they are physically ready."

The Italian coach stated that he would select two players for each position in the squad that will participate in the EURO 2024 finals and that he would prefer more players for offensive roles.
