Noting that they fought well against Galatasaray, Volkan Demirel said, "Defeated on this path, yet victorious. I congratulate all my players. I said it before coming here, what I wanted from them, for them to apply what I explained... I don't remember a team that fought like this here against Galatasaray this year. They did everything we wanted; there is a goal from a set-piece, maybe there could be a foul. There is a position where Rivas was pushed from behind, could it be a penalty? It could be, I can't say anything. Is there an offside in the goal? They drew the lines and checked, I suppose there is. Even though we were defeated, I thank my team very much. They fought hard.
