Volkan Demirel: Galatasaray's situation does not concern us

Gençlerbirliği, which will face Galatasaray away in the 13th week of the Trendyol Super Lig, continued its preparations. Gençlerbirliği Manager Volkan Demirel made statements before the capital team's training session, which was open to the press.

Stating that the Galatasaray match will be a very good match for them, Volkan Demirel said that Galatasaray will want to win and has one of the best squads in Turkey. Demirel said, "The Göztepe match may have ended badly in terms of the score, but I couldn't explain much about the game. Despite that, I think we played a good game with the players' belief in us. 

The Başakşehir match was a continuation of the Göztepe match. Both a good game and a result came. I am very pleased with the performance in the Başakşehir match. We made a plan in Antalya to improve ourselves physically. I look at the future with a moderate and positive outlook. I would like to announce to the public now that the Galatasaray match is very valuable for us, that we respect our opponent, but that we will be there to take a point or points. There is a team trying to do what we want. We can more or less predict Galatasaray's game. I have played against Okan Hoca, who is at the head of Galatasaray. We have a situation planned. Hopefully, we will reflect this plan on the field in the best way possible," he said.

Answering a question about the left-back crisis at Galatasaray due to the ongoing betting investigations, Demirel spoke as follows:

"Galatasaray's situation does not concern us. Who will play or who won't. Will Osimhen play? Will Abdülkerim play? There are a lot of rumors, but I really don't look at them at all. I am thinking about what kind of plan I can implement against Galatasaray with the squad I have, and how I can be effective against them. I believe we will do this in the best way possible with the squad I have," he stated.
