In the 29th week of the Super Lig, Kayserispor and Hatayspor drew 1-1.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Hatayspor manager Volkan Demirel emphasized that it was a high-tempo match, noting that they were the side that played better and applied pressure in the first 10-15 minutes.

Touching upon how the goal they found in the opening minutes restored their self-confidence, Demirel said:

"After the 15th or 16th minute, Kayserispor's game began. As a result, they managed to find two positions and score the equalizer. We, on the other hand, could not maintain that self-confidence, thinking more about protecting the score and not conceding. If we had a bit more self-confidence, perhaps it would have been better to go on and win after finding the second goal. In the second half, after Kayserispor wanted to establish dominance in the game, we made 4 substitutions. Because 5 of our new transfers were on the pitch at the same time. They were not fully ready yet."

Explaining that Kayserispor could have scored a second goal due to some individual errors, Demirel assessed, "Taking a point away from home against a team you are competing with might look good, but I am not happy with either the performance or the point earned. It was a match we should have taken three points from."

WE SHOULD BE HAPPY WITH THE POINT

Kayserispor technical director Hari Vukas said in his post-match statement, "We should be happy with the point we earned in this match."

In his statement at the press conference held after the match, Vukas said that they did not start the match well.

Explaining that they conceded an early goal due to a bad start, Vukas stated that they tried to put pressure on the opponent to find the equalizer.

Stating that they wanted to control the game as much as possible before the match, get behind the opponent, and find positions, Vukas noted the following:

"We continued in that manner even after conceding the goal. We found the equalizer and then entered many positions. Unfortunately, we remained ineffective in terms of converting the positions we created. From the beginning of the second half, we were striving to play our own game. We tried to pressure our opponent. We found a few more important opportunities in the second half this way, but we were left with 10 men towards the end of the match. I think we should be satisfied with the point we earned after being reduced to 10 men. Our opponent applied some pressure towards the end of the match. Therefore, we should be happy with the point we earned in this match."
