Volkan Demirel's reaction to Fenerbahçe regarding Osimhen

Volkan Demirel made striking statements regarding Fenerbahçe's transfer strategies during the Asist Analiz program, where he evaluated developments in the Super Lig. Demirel questioned the club's past decisions, particularly regarding the Osimhen transfer.

TRANSFER POLICY AND FUTURE PLANNING

Stating that he heard Osimhen was offered to Fenerbahçe, Demirel said, "Osimhen arrived as a chance transfer. Such players are not easily found again." Furthermore, recalling Acun Ilıcalı's words about Osimhen, he remarked, "They should never ask that executive about transfers again who said, 'Where are we going to put Osimhen when we have Dzeko, En-Nesyri, and Cenk Tosun?'"

Noting that Galatasaray's plans for next season might change due to Osimhen's situation, Demirel said, "The departure or stay of a player like Osimhen will seriously affect Galatasaray's strategy for the next season."

Stating that Fenerbahçe president Ali Koç has closed off all options, Demirel said, "The goal for next year should be to set out for the championship and make transfers accordingly."

Demirel also emphasized that tickets for the stands behind the goals should not be sold to make it easier for young fans to access matches. "The stands behind the goals should be filled by children who save money from their weekly allowances," he said.

REFEREE DECISIONS AND PLAYER PERFORMANCES

Touching upon referee decisions, Demirel stated that Dzeko's position was a clear penalty, saying, "It is incomprehensible that even VAR did not call for a review." While evaluating Talisca's performance, he said, "Do not expect an Alex from Talisca. A player who can both score and provide assists should be brought in alongside him."

Finally, touching upon İrfan Can's statements, Demirel noted that what young players say under stress should not be taken too seriously. He concluded his remarks by saying, "Whoever sent these players there, I would ask them first."
