The Turkish Football Federation is reeling from allegations that referees have been placing bets. TFF President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu's announcement that 371 out of 571 referees in professional leagues have betting accounts, and that 152 of them have been actively placing bets, has caused a major stir in the public eye.

Following these developments, TFF Vice President Mecnun Otyakmaz made significant statements regarding the matter. Otyakmaz said, "The investigations launched into the referees are ongoing. Similar reviews will be conducted in other TFF departments in stages," he stated. He noted that the results of the detailed research conducted on the betting issue will become clear in the coming days.

Otyakmaz stated that when the TFF Legal Board submits the file regarding the referees who placed bets to the PFDK, the names of these referees will be disclosed on the TFF's official website under the heading of Disciplinary Referrals.
