Will we become champions once Necip is sent away?

I am writing these lines not as a journalist, but as someone who has been a Beşiktaş fan since birth. These lines are a debt I owe to my older brother, who made me a Beşiktaş fan by hanging posters on the walls when I was a child, and to my nephew, whom I made a Beşiktaş fan.

For years, the posters on the walls featured the likes of Rıza, Şifo, and Metin-Ali-Feyyaz. Those were my childhood years when I listened to matches on the radio, cried after the Valerenga match, and went to school happy whenever we beat Fener or Cimbom.

After those years, there was only one name that remained unchanged on the posters the new generation hung on their walls for the last 16 years: Necip Uysal.

Necip Uysal was the embodiment of the dreams we had as children, saying "I wish I were on the pitch, I wish I could do that." In the words of our dear Ergin Aslan, our Necip was a postmodern Rıza Çalımbay. Even when he passed the age of 30, he was always "Young Necip." Even in the show Leyla ile Mecnun, Necip Uysal was the only constant star of Beşiktaş.

Of course, everyone is replaceable at Beşiktaş. But if we remove the values that make Beşiktaş what it is, what remains other than just a black color?

Ergin Aslan used to say, "Invite Necip to your wedding, and Necip will even show up there." Until just a few days ago, I would say, "If I get married, my wedding witness will be Necip Uysal," even though Necip doesn't know me at all.

The current management recently had the audacity to say goodbye to Necip with a tweet. Who are you to dismiss a living value of Beşiktaş, whom you said "Forever" to just this past February, with a single tweet, gentlemen? You are acting according to a few social media trolls.

Is this how you say goodbye? Are those who turn a blind eye to Rafa Silva taking their frustration out on Necip? Necip poured his blood and sweat into this team, but what have you given? Do you not remember Hasan Arat, Yıldırım Demirören, or Ahmet Nur Çebi at all? Have you forgotten the past this much? Anyone who sells out Necip Uysal with a tweet today will sell the 122-year-old Beşiktaş to some Arab capital at the first opportunity. But their end will be worse than Hasan Arat's. As for Çarşı, they are nowhere to be found in the market anyway. Everyone has accepted this nonsense too quickly.

A few words also for Sergen Yalçın, whom I have always supported. You are one of the living legends of this club, but did you learn nothing from Süleyman Seba? Doesn't Necip deserve the energy you spent talking to Rafa Silva? Will the nightmares we have lived through for years end once Necip is sent away? Will the championships come?

There is no one in the community or the management who knows me, or whom I know. I have no influence. But as Oğuzhan Özyakup said, "Sometimes staying silent means being a part of the wrong."

As a final word to these lines I wrote in one go... Those who attempt to send Necip away with a tweet will go away with a tweet!
