Women's National Football Team secures EURO 2025 play-off spot

The Women's National Football Team finished second in their group with 9 points after defeating Hungary 4-1 away in the final match of the 2025 European Championship Qualifiers League B Group 1, securing their place in the play-offs.

Competing in League B Group 1 of the 2025 European Championship Qualifiers, the Women's National Football Team faced Hungary at the Alcufer Stadium in the city of Gyor in their 6th and final match.

Displaying a dominant performance from start to finish against their opponent, the Nationals won the match 4-1 with goals from Busem Şeker in the 14th minute, Elif Keskin in the 54th minute, Birgül Sadıkoğlu in the 61st minute, and Kader Hançar in the 79th minute. Hungary's only goal came from Zsanett Kajan in the 66th minute.

The match was watched by Turkish Football Federation Women's Football Director Eren Şenyaprak and Ambassador to Budapest Gülşen Karanis Ekşioğlu. Before the match, Ekşioğlu presented flowers to the technical staff and the team, wishing them success.

Turkey has secured a play-off match to qualify for the 2025 European Championship Finals. The draw for the play-offs will be held on July 19, 2024, at the UEFA Headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

Turkey's opponent in the first play-off round will be determined as a result of this draw. If Turkey advances in the qualifiers, which will be played on a two-legged basis, they will compete in the second play-off round. The team that wins this round will qualify for the 2025 European Championship Finals.
