Worrying picture for Beşiktaş after Amedspor defeat
Beşiktaş returning empty-handed from both of its Süper Lig away games outside of Istanbul this season has brought the black-and-whites' away record in recent years back into the spotlight. Since the 2021-22 season, the Eagles have secured 24 wins while suffering 18 defeats in 63 league matches played outside of Istanbul.

Beşiktaş’s 3-2 defeat away to Amed in the Süper Lig has reopened the debate regarding the black-and-whites' performance outside of Istanbul. Having played their first two away games of the season outside of Istanbul, Beşiktaş returned from Diyarbakır empty-handed, just as they did from Alanya.
The black-and-whites have struggled to maintain a consistent record in league matches outside of Istanbul since the 2020-21 season, when they last won the title. Since the 2021-22 season, Beşiktaş has won 24 of the 63 Süper Lig matches played in this context, while recording 21 draws and 18 defeats.
AWAY RECORD BY SEASON
In the 2026-27 season, Beşiktaş has failed to secure a win in the 2 league matches played outside of Istanbul so far, dropping 6 points. The black-and-white team dropped 13 points in 11 matches with 6 wins in the 2025-26 season, 20 points in 13 matches with 4 wins in the 2024-25 season, and 21 points in 12 matches with 4 wins in the 2023-24 season.
In the 2022-23 season, Beşiktaş won 6 of its 11 league matches outside of Istanbul, dropping 12 points during that period. In the 2021-22 season, the black-and-whites achieved 4 wins in 14 matches, suffering a loss of 24 points.
All three of Beşiktaş’s defeats in official matches this season have come away from home. The black-and-whites first lost 1-0 to Kauno Zalgiris in Lithuania; in the league, they lost 1-0 to Alanyaspor and 3-2 to Amed. It was noted that all three defeats were by a single-goal margin.
The Eagles achieved victories in their other away matches against Fenerbahçe, H. Kralove, and Midtjylland. Thus, Beşiktaş has recorded 3 wins and 3 defeats in the 6 official away matches played this season.
The black-and-whites have 10 more matches to play outside of Istanbul in the Süper Lig this season. Beşiktaş will be the guest of Trabzonspor, Konyaspor, Gaziantep FK, Göztepe, Çorum FK, Erzurumspor, Kocaelispor, Gençlerbirliği, Samsunspor, and Rizespor, respectively.
On the other hand, Beşiktaş became the club among the "Big Four" that sent the most players to national teams during the current international break. While 17 players from the black-and-whites were called up to 13 different national teams, 16 players from Galatasaray, 13 from Fenerbahçe, and 11 from Trabzonspor went to their respective national teams.
