Yasin Kol's first statement in the referees file: Striking betting explanation

Süper Lig referee Yasin Kol and Süper Lig assistant referee Göktuğ Hazar Erel have been detained in Istanbul as part of an investigation known as the "referees file."

It was stated that Kol was detained following the Trabzonspor-Drogheda United friendly match played in Trabzon. It was reported that the suspects' procedures at the police station are ongoing.

It was learned that action was taken against the two referees following the examination of digital materials and a detailed analysis of MASAK records in the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Bureau of Illegal Betting and Sports Crimes.

It was reported that Kol and Erel were detained on charges of "opposition to Law No. 7258," "complicity in forgery of documents," and "misconduct in office." Opposition to Law No. 7258 is among the charges related to illegal betting.

PREVIOUS DETENTIONS IN THE INVESTIGATION

It was previously stated that MHK (Central Referee Board) President Ferhat Gündoğdu, TFF Active Referees Association President Ferdi Karadoruk, former TFF Central Referee Board Deputy Chairman Ahmet Şahin, former TFF Central Referee Board Member Yunus Yıldırım, TFF Training and 4th Region Supervisor Sebahattin Şahin, TFF Referees and Observers Association Istanbul Branch Organization Supervisor Alican Sağlar, and TFF Referees and Observers Association Istanbul Provincial Referee Board President Emre Kosif had been detained as part of the investigation.

It was stated that open-source research, MASAK and HTS studies, complainant and witness statements, and expert findings were evaluated in the file.
