Football teams consisting of well-known and legendary veteran players from Turkey and Germany met in Antalya in a collaboration between the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and the German Embassy in Ankara to emphasize Turkish-German friendship.
The organization's cocktail event was held at a hotel in the city.
The rift between manager Yılmaz Vural and former national football player Tanju Çolak, who attended the event, came to an end during this program. Vural apologized on stage to Çolak, who had been offended by a remark he had made.
Speaking on the matter, Tanju Çolak said, "I saw him at Daum's funeral and expressed my resentment. I thank him here as well. People can make mistakes, but what matters is accepting the mistake. I thank my coach; he is my elder, he is important, he is valuable, and he is special for Turkish football. We love each other."
Yılmaz Vural also stated that the funeral ceremony in Germany for German manager Christoph Daum, who passed away 2.5 months ago, had a different dimension for him, saying, "I saw Tanju there, and thank God we are together again today."
Vural added that he would be coaching the Fenerbahçe veteran team in the tournament.
The "9th Legends Cup Football Tournament," where Christoph Daum is also being commemorated, aims to provide football fans with nostalgic and exciting moments. Veteran teams from Antalyaspor, Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, Galatasaray, and Germany's Schalke 04, Hannover 96, FC Nürnberg, and FC Adler will compete in the organization.
