Zeynep Sönmez succeeds in reaching the main draw in Berlin

Zeynep Sönmez secured her place in the main draw by defeating Emina Bektas of the USA 2-1 in the final round of the qualifiers at the WTA 500 Berlin Ladies Open.

Zeynep, ranked 154th in the world, faced Bektas, ranked 96th, in the final qualifying match of the tournament held in the German capital, Berlin.

The 22-year-old national tennis player won the match, which lasted 2 hours and 26 minutes, with sets of 7-6, 2-6, and 6-3, becoming one of the 32 players to reach the main draw of the grass-court tournament.
