Murat Kurum changes claim about metro line he demonstrated by walking 8 steps: 'He only built 18 kilometers'
AKP's Istanbul candidate Murat Kurum had previously claimed that the IMM built 8 kilometers of metro line during the Ekrem İmamoğlu administration. Kurum has now increased this claim to 18 kilometers.

AKP Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) mayoral candidate Murat Kurum, who had previously claimed that the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) had 'only built 8 kilometers of metro line' during its 5-year administration, has increased his claim to 18 kilometers.
Kurum had even demonstrated the 8-kilometer distance he mentioned by walking it in eight steps.
"THEY WILL APOLOGIZE"
In response to these statements by Kurum, İmamoğlu stated that they had constructed 65 kilometers of metro line and said the following:
“Those who tell the 8-kilometer lie will know their place. They will apologize. Forget about İmamoğlu; they will apologize to the laborers who sweated underground and above ground to build the 65 kilometers of metro, to the contractors, to them. They will apologize to the people of this city who use the 62 new stations we opened, to the people of Istanbul.”
"HE ONLY BUILT 18 KILOMETERS"
Speaking on a KRT broadcast yesterday, Kurum increased his claim to 18 kilometers and made another jab at İmamoğlu:
“Since 2019, 146 kilometers of metro line have been built in Istanbul. The lines opened by the Ministry of Transport are approximately 82 kilometers; the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has only built 18 kilometers of the total 63.9 kilometers it claims to have 'opened'.”
