The General Directorate of TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ has announced that it will switch entirely to an e-ticket system for train travel as of September 1. In an announcement made on the institution's social media account, it was stated that ticket processes are being moved to a digital infrastructure as part of e-document transformation efforts.
With the new application, passengers will be able to access their e-tickets via the link in the PDF document included in the “Travel Information” email sent to them after purchasing their tickets.
In its statement, TCDD Taşımacılık emphasized that the application will make tickets “digital, secure, and accessible at any time.” The institution summarized the process for passengers to access their e-tickets with the words: “Buy your ticket, open your ‘Travel Information’ email, click the link in the PDF document, and easily access your e-ticket.”
The statement noted that the goals of transitioning to the new system include reduced paper usage, easy access, secure document management, and the creation of a stronger digital infrastructure.
TCDD Taşımacılık stated that its digital transformation efforts will continue, adding, “We continue to develop and transform to build the railways of the future today.”
