Countdown begins for the Francophone Film Festival
The Francophone Film Festival, which will showcase the best examples of French cinema, is returning with a new edition. From March 21 to April 30, cinema enthusiasts will have the opportunity to discover a wide selection of new and mostly unreleased films in cities across Turkey.

The festival's 2024 selection offers masterpieces of Francophone cinema, as well as impressive documentaries and innovative independent films.
This year's host cities and districts include Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara, Bursa, Adana, Ayvalik, Diyarbakir, Gaziantep, Canakkale, Luleburgaz, Eskisehir and Mersin.
Organized in partnership with the Embassies of Switzerland, Belgium, Canada, Luxembourg and Poland, the Francophone Film Festival is held as a celebration of creativity, artistic expression and intercultural dialogue, while committing to promoting French language and the cultures of French-speaking countries that are members or observers of the International Organization of La Francophonie.

Florent Signifredi, Audiovisual Attaché and event coordinator at the Institut français Türkiye, stated that the program will appeal to a very wide audience, saying, "This year's program includes award-winning films, many of which have never been shown in Turkey before, such as Ashkal (Antigone d’or at Cinemed & Etalon d’or at Fespaco), Les filles d’Olfa (nominated for an Oscar), Chien de la Casse (won several awards in France), and Pacifiction (won two awards at the Césars). Beyond the program, the festival is above all a delightful opportunity to share the French-speaking world."
