WhatsApp's third blue tick move
Meta is introducing a "third blue tick" feature to make message tracking more transparent for WhatsApp users. With this new system, it will be possible to see whether a message has been read by more than one person.

WhatsApp, one of the world's most widely used messaging applications, is introducing a new feature to increase user security and the level of information provided. Thanks to the "third blue tick" feature added to the platform developed by Meta, it will be possible to track in more detail who has read messages.
HOW DID THE CURRENT TICK SYSTEM WORK?
Until now, message status in WhatsApp was indicated by three different icons:
A single gray tick: indicated that the message was sent,
A double gray tick: indicated that the message reached the recipient,
A double blue tick: indicated that the message was read by the other party.
With the new feature, this system is being further expanded.
WHAT DOES THE THIRD BLUE TICK MEAN?
With the new feature, if a message is read not only by the original recipient but also by someone else, this will be indicated by a third blue tick. Especially in group chats or in cases where a message is forwarded to other people, users will be able to see more clearly how many people have viewed their messages.
TO BE ACTIVATED VIA PRIVACY SETTINGS
Users who want to use the "third blue tick" feature need to go to Settings > Privacy > Advanced Read Receipt in the WhatsApp application to activate it. This feature, which comes turned off by default, can be toggled on or off according to user preference.
TO BE ROLLED OUT GRADUALLY TO ALL USERS
Meta officials announced that the "third blue tick" feature is being tested on a limited number of users initially, but that it is planned to be made available to all users in a short time.
