According to experts, yellow is easier to notice than many other colors in dusty fields, foggy weather, and low-light conditions. This allows operators and workers on the site to see moving machines earlier, contributing to the reduction of potential workplace accidents.
It is stated that the widespread use of the color yellow on heavy construction machinery dates back to 1931. When it was determined that machines produced in gray at that time did not attract enough attention, manufacturers turned to the more visible "Hi-Way Yellow" shade. Over time, this preference was adopted across the industry.
Another reason for the prominence of the color yellow is the advantage it provides in harsh working conditions. While dust clouds, mud, rain, and fog on construction sites make it difficult to distinguish dark-colored machines, yellow tones remain more visible.
