150 fires broke out in two days, 8 forest fires are still ongoing

The Presidential Communications Directorate announced that 142 of the 150 fires that broke out across Turkey in the last two days have been brought under control. Efforts to combat the 8 ongoing forest fires continue from both the air and the ground.

The Presidential Communications Directorate shared updated information regarding the fires that have broken out across the country in the last two days in a statement on its social media account. According to the statement, a total of 150 fires occurred, 68 of which were in forest areas and 82 in agricultural areas.

142 FIRES UNDER CONTROL

The statement indicated that 142 of the fires have been brought under control as a result of rapid and effective intervention. It was noted that coordination regarding the fires is being provided by the Fire Management Center of the General Directorate of Forestry, which operates under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

8 FOREST FIRES CONTINUE

The 8 forest fires that are still ongoing are located in the following regions:

Sakarya/Bilecik

Manisa/Akhisar

Balıkesir/Havran

Balıkesir/Kepsut

Kahramanmaraş/Pazarcık

Bolu/Göynük

Gaziantep/Nurdağı

Bilecik/Osmaneli

In these regions, the fires are being combated intensively with ground and air assets.
