3-day ban on meetings and demonstrations in that province

The Tokat Governor's Office has announced that all public events to be held across the province have been banned for a period of three days in order to protect public order and security.

In the statement made by the Governor's Office, it was stated that in line with the decision taken within the scope of the Law on Meetings and Demonstration Marches No. 2911, all activities other than events deemed appropriate by the governor's and district governor's offices and programs to be organized by public institutions and organizations have been banned.

THE SCOPE OF THE BAN WAS KEPT BROAD

The statement emphasized that all kinds of open and closed-area meetings, marches, press statements, protest actions, rallies, setting up tents, sit-in protests, opening stands, hunger strikes, commemoration ceremonies, hanging posters and banners, distributing flyers, setting up signature tables, lighting torches, concerts, conferences, and similar events to be held throughout Tokat have been banned.

3-DAY PERIOD DETERMINED

According to the statement from the Governor's Office, the ban decision will be in effect from 00:01 on October 9, 2025, until 23:59 on October 11, 2025.

PURPOSE: PUBLIC ORDER AND SECURITY

The Tokat Governor's Office stated that the decision was taken for the purpose of protecting public order, ensuring national security, preserving general health, and preventing harm to the rights and freedoms of others.
