While 32 military hospitals in 26 cities were closed following the July 15 coup attempt, it has emerged that a military hospital was opened in the city of Kyrenia in the TRNC with Turkey's support at a cost of 340 million liras.

Following the coup attempt carried out by the junta structure within the TSK on July 15, 2016, 32 military hospitals in 26 cities had been closed.

According to the report by Emin Özgönül from Sözcü, it was stated that the military hospital in the city of Kyrenia in the TRNC, which reportedly cost 340 million liras, was opened with the support of Turkey.

CLOSED IN TURKEY, OPENED IN THE TRNC

TRNC President Ersin Tatar and Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz inaugurated the 100-bed military hospital, which was named the “December 24 Military Hospital.” 

The hospital's equipment needs will be met by Turkey, and cooperation, experience, and information sharing will be conducted with the TRNC for the training of medical staff. Scientific research programs will be implemented. The assignment of specialist physicians needed in the TRNC will also be provided.
