36-kilometer metro line coming to the airport
Construction of a new 36-kilometer metro line that will facilitate access to Ankara's Esenboğa Airport is planned to begin in 2026.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that construction work on the YHT Station–Kuyubaşı–Esenboğa Airport Metro Line in Ankara is targeted to begin in 2026. Minister Uraloğlu stated that significant changes have been made to the project in line with increasing passenger demand and transportation needs.
Explaining that the line, which was initially planned with a transfer from Kuyubaşı, has been redesigned to start from the YHT Station following the adjustments, Uraloğlu emphasized that this will provide direct and fast transportation to Esenboğa Airport.
Stating that not only the route of the project but also the station layouts, entrance-exit structures, and operational criteria have been updated, Uraloğlu noted that the line will directly connect Ankara's main transportation and residential hubs.
The metro line, which will be 36 kilometers long in total, will feature 12 stations. These stations will include YHT Station, Hospital, Demirlibahçe, Siteler, Solfasol, Kuyubaşı, North Ankara, Pursaklar, Sarayköy, Fairground, Esenboğa, and Yıldırım Beyazıt University.
