4 new metro lines coming to Ankara
With four new metro lines planned for the capital, the transportation network will both expand and provide more effective service to existing settlements.

Preparations for four separate metro projects to be implemented in Ankara with the aim of making public transportation more comprehensive and faster have been completed. According to the latest announcements, tens of thousands of the capital's residents will meet the comfort of the metro with these projects, which have a total length exceeding 44 kilometers.
Among the projects for which applications have been made are the 9.36-kilometer Koru-Yaşamkent-Bağlıca extension (M2), the 15.25-kilometer Kızılay-Dikmen line (M5), the new M6 connection that will link Çayyolu to Sincan with a distance of 12.5 kilometers, and the 7.43-kilometer Dikimevi-Natoyolu line. While the process for inclusion in the investment program for the M2 Koru-Yaşamkent-Bağlıca extension has been completed, approval processes for the other lines are ongoing.
It is expected that more than 30 stations in total will be located on these new metro lines, which will strengthen transportation across the city, especially in rapidly growing and developing regions. Thus, both integration between existing metro lines will be ensured and transportation to new residential areas will be made much easier.
Experts state that the Koru-Yaşamkent-Bağlıca extension line will provide relief in transportation, especially around Konutkent, Yaşamkent, and Başkent University. In addition, the new line between Çayyolu and Sincan will also serve the Eryaman YHT station, creating an important bridge between urban and intercity travel.
The Kızılay-Dikmen metro line, which will be built in the city's southern corridor, will offer fast and uninterrupted transportation from Dikmen to Kızılay with its 11 stations.
