5 people arrested in connection with the death of baby Pera, victim of a stray bullet

Five people have been arrested in connection with the death of 11-month-old baby Pera, who lost her life after being struck in the head by a stray bullet fired from a passing wedding convoy while playing with her mother at home in the Söke district of Aydın.

In Aydın, a baby playing at home with her mother had lost her life as a result of a stray bullet striking her in the head.

The incident occurred on Monday, July 1, at a house located on Bayındır Street in the Çeltikçi neighborhood. According to the information obtained, a stray bullet fired from a passing wedding convoy struck 11-month-old Pera Palabıyık while she was playing with her mother, Buse Palabıyık, in their home. The bullet ricocheted off the ceiling of their house and wounded baby Pera in the head. Despite all interventions at the Söke Fehime Faik Kocagöz State Hospital, Pera passed away.

Following the incident, teams from the Söke District Police Department launched an investigation to identify the convoy and apprehend those responsible, detaining 6 suspects, including the groom D.G., his father, and his uncle. The suspects were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station. Among the suspects brought before a judge, C.G. was released under judicial control, while M.T.G., S.B., M.B., Ö.Ç., and the groom D.G. were arrested and sent to prison.
