69 groups involved in drug trafficking on Telegram shut down
As part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a total of 69 public and private communication groups on Telegram identified as being used for drug trafficking have been blocked.

A significant step has been taken in an investigation led by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into individuals and organizations identified as using the instant messaging application Telegram for drug trafficking. As part of the investigation, 69 communication groups found to be used for drug trade were shut down.
In the efforts coordinated by the Smuggling, Narcotics and Economic Crimes Investigation Bureau, teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Narcotics Crimes Branch scrutinized public and private groups created on Telegram. The examinations determined that these groups were facilitating the supply and sale of narcotics.
Following the operations, in line with the instructions of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, necessary correspondence was conducted with Telegram's authorized company located abroad. As a result of this process, it was reported that 69 communication groups assessed to be linked to drug trafficking were shut down on the platform.
