An unfortunate accident occurred in Esenyurt during infrastructure work carried out by ISKI. A fire broke out on Namık Kemal Neighborhood 10th Street after an underground natural gas line was accidentally struck, leaving 2 workers injured. As the flames spread rapidly, two buildings on the street, one 6 stories and the other 5 stories high, sustained damage.
Additionally, a parked motorcycle was completely burned and rendered unusable.
The fire was brought under control by fire crews who were quickly dispatched to the scene, while the street was closed to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic as a security precaution. The injured workers were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
