Downpour disaster in Trabzon: City left underwater
Due to the heavy rainfall that has been effective in the city center of Trabzon since the early hours of the morning, roads have turned into lakes, and numerous homes and businesses have been flooded.

Intense downpours that began in the morning hours in Trabzon city center have effectively paralyzed daily life.
Following the rainfall that affected the entire city, many homes and businesses, as well as numerous roads, intersections, underpasses, and tunnel-exit passages were filled with water, while flooding, landslides, and flash floods occurred in the city center.
ROADS TURNED INTO LAKES
Due to the heavy rainfall, many vehicles became stranded in pools of water covering roads and parking lots. Piri Reis Street in the Karşıyaka neighborhood effectively turned into a stream due to the rainwater.
Mud and debris carried by floodwaters coming down from the hillside caused the road to be completely blocked, bringing traffic to a standstill.
NEARLY 50 VEHICLES DAMAGED
One of the areas where the rain was felt most intensely was the old state coastal road located between the 2 Nolu Beşirli neighborhood and the Regional Directorate of Forestry. In this area, nearly 50 vehicles were left submerged in water.
In a statement made by the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, it was stated that rapid intervention was carried out during the crisis:
"Since the morning hours, 83 reports of flooding have been received, and our teams have taken immediate action."
A total of 460 personnel from the municipality's TİSKİ General Directorate, Road Maintenance and Repair, Parks and Gardens, and Fire Department are continuing work across the city with "16 vacuum trucks, 20 sewer cleaning vehicles, 4 combined sewer cleaning vehicles, 24 construction machines, and 50 vehicles."
Municipal officials also issued the following warning:
"We kindly ask our citizens to be careful against electric shocks in areas where flooding has occurred, particularly near transformers and utility poles, in addition to the risks of landslides and flooding."
