In Aksaray, a driver who parked illegally resisted traffic police. The incident occurred on Ebulfez Elçibey Street in the Taşpazar neighborhood. According to the information obtained, the driver, identified as M.U. (23), parked their vehicle in the second lane of the open road after failing to find a parking space. This caused a long queue of vehicles on the street and severely disrupted traffic.
A motorcycle traffic police officer from the Provincial Security Directorate's Traffic Registration and Inspection Branch wanted to have the vehicle, which was obstructing traffic, towed. However, the driver, who saw the police officer at the vehicle, began to argue, saying, "You cannot tow my car." Although the police officer reminded the driver of the laws and rules, the driver insisted that the vehicle could not be towed.
As the incident escalated, public order teams were also called to the scene. Due to the traffic congestion, it was difficult for the public order teams to reach the location. The teams tried to calm the angry driver, but the driver told the public order teams as well that they would not let the car be towed. The driver resisted the police officer by saying, "I will kiss your hands and feet, but I will not let you tow that car," and stated that they would not go to the police station.
Despite the police teams explaining the reason for towing the vehicle, they could not convince the driver. The driver was fined a total of 3 thousand 702 TL for various violations, and their driver's license was confiscated for 2 months for reaching 100 penalty points. The vehicle was loaded onto a tow truck and taken to the impound lot. The driver was taken to the police station to provide a statement.
