Drivers take note! Many roads closed in Istanbul! Alternative routes announced

According to the information previously shared by the Istanbul Governor's Office, the routes announced to be closed to traffic due to the Istanbul Marathon were closed to transportation starting from the night hours. Various alternative routes have been put into effect to ensure drivers are not inconvenienced.

In a previous announcement by the Istanbul Governor's Office, it was stated that some roads would be closed to traffic as part of the Istanbul Marathon starting from 03:00 and 06:00 on Sunday, November 2, until the end of the program, and that alternative routes had been created for drivers.

In this context, the list of routes to be closed as of 03:00 was shared as follows:

"- South Zincirlikuyu junction, North Uzunçayır ramp closure point, North Ünalan Ataşehir Sabiha Gökçen junctions closure point, D-100 South entry in front of Gayrettepe Melas Hotel (mandatory direction will be given towards Yıldız Posta and Esentepe), Barbaros Boulevard D-100 South entry (mandatory direction will be given towards Beşiktaş), Sait Çiftçi viaduct top D-100 South entry (traffic coming from Fulya will be directed towards Sarıyer), Barbaros Boulevard Sait Çiftçi D-100 South entry (mandatory direction will be given towards Sarıyer), D-100 North entry from Kısıklı Street over the Altunizade Bridge, D-100 North road entry from Mahiriz Street over the Altunizade Bridge, 15 July Martyrs Bridge North entry from Beylerbeyi Abdullahağa Street, Tophanelioğlu Street D-100 North entry, Tunnel entrance, and entry from West Ataşehir Kızıl Begonya Street towards the North Ring Road Rıdvan Dedeoğlu Viaduct will be closed," it was stated.

Alternative roads that can be used by drivers were also announced. The statement included the following information:

"Traffic coming from the South O-1 Highway to the 15 July Martyrs Bridge will be completely cut off and directed to the Büyükdere-Balmumcu/Levent Sarıyer junction. Traffic will be directed to the Çamlıca connection road from the Sabiha Gökçen junctions. Traffic coming from the Çamlıca Toll Booths will be directed towards the Ünalan Ataşehir Çamlıca direction. Mandatory direction will be given towards Yıldız Posta and Esentepe. Mandatory direction will be given towards Beşiktaş. Traffic coming from Fulya will be given a mandatory direction towards Sarıyer. Mandatory direction will be given towards Sarıyer."

The second stage of closures on the morning of the marathon will come into effect as of 06:00.

The roads to be closed in this context were announced as follows:

"Rauf Orbay Street towards Florya and Yenikapı and all roads leading to this street, Coastal Kennedy Street towards Unkapanı and Bakırköy and all roads leading to this street, Ankara Street and all roads leading to this street, Alayköşkü Street and all roads leading to this street, Alemdar Street and all roads leading to this street, Divanyolu Street and all roads leading to this street, Ragıp Gümüşpala Street (will be closed to traffic in both directions) towards Sarayburnu and Unkapanı and all roads leading to this street, Reşadiye Street (Sirkeci Coastal Road) and all roads leading to this street, Galata Bridge (will be closed to traffic in both directions) and all roads leading to it, Eurasia Tunnel will be closed in both directions and all roads leading to it, Havuzlu Junction Underpass and all roads leading to it, Sultanahmet Atmeydanı Street and all roads leading to this street," it was recorded.

Alternative routes that can be used in response to the morning closures were listed as follows:

"Atatürk Boulevard, Balat Coastal Road, Unkapanı Bridge, Fevzipaşa Street, Vatan Street, Millet Street, New Airport Street, Old Airport Street, Ekrem Kurt Boulevard, D-100 Highway"
