The Istanbul Police Department's Public Security Branch Murder Bureau and Intelligence Branch teams are continuing the investigation launched after a paper collector found a headless female corpse in a trash container in Şişli.

In this context, the processing of the Uzbekistan nationals D.A.U.T. and G.A.K., as well as E.K., has been completed at the police station. The suspects were referred to the courthouse following health checks.

Police teams were dispatched to the area after a person collecting paper on Kuyulubağ Street in Duatepe Neighborhood saw a headless corpse in a container. Following the examination, the body was taken to the Yenibosna morgue of the Council of Forensic Medicine.

Identification efforts determined that the deceased was 36-year-old Uzbekistan national Durdona Khakımova.

SECURITY CAMERAS AND APPREHENSION

Police teams tracked the suspects by reviewing approximately 8 hours of security camera footage. It was reported that D.A.U.T. and G.A.K. were apprehended at Istanbul Airport while attempting to flee to Georgia, and that E.K. was also detained as the investigation continued.

Investigations revealed that Khakımova had met the suspect D.A.U.T. on social media about 3 months ago, and that the suspect had come to Turkey and started working as a construction worker in Istanbul.

It was learned that Khakımova, who lived in the same house with a person to whom she was religiously married in Fatih, had told them she was going to see E.K., whom she knew as a family friend, when she left the house. It was reported that E.K., who was determined to be a butcher, was apprehended as part of the investigation due to this connection.

It was determined that D.A.U.T. was in the apartment when the victim arrived at the address in Ümraniye, and that G.A.K. also arrived at the house a short while later.

In his initial statement at the police station, D.A.U.T. claimed that he committed the act with a sharp object and that he did not remember where he threw the knife.

Police determined that the two suspects came from Ümraniye to Şişli by taxi, left the suitcases containing the body parts in trash containers along the way, and then went to the airport in a chauffeur-driven vehicle they rented in Fatih.

On the other hand, it was reported that the moments when Khakımova left the house where she stayed in Fatih and walked on the street were captured by security cameras.
