Efkan Ala evaluates the statement by PKK terrorist organization leader Öcalan

Ala answered questions regarding the agenda and made evaluations during a live broadcast on A Haber.

Emphasizing that one must look at the essence of the matter regarding the terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan's call for the PKK to lay down arms and dissolve itself, Ala stated, "What is the essence of the matter? The terrorist organization dissolving itself and the burying of weapons. Now, everyone must strive to achieve this, to achieve this result. What is important is the result. We, too, will look at the result."

Responding to the question, "What should be the difference from previous times for this process to succeed, what should be done, or what should not be done?", Ala noted the following:

"First, there are previous processes and experiences behind the goal of a Turkey without terrorism. They must learn a lesson from that. Those who sabotaged, obstructed, and cut off that process at the time must learn a lesson from that process. Second, at that time, there was an Arab Spring period in Syria and our region. There were very large tremors around us. We saw the reflection of those tremors within Turkey as well. They tried to turn Turkey into Syria, but they were not successful because of the steps we have taken since 2002 and the reforms through which we removed the heavy pressures on fundamental rights and freedoms in Turkey. Now, the developments outside, in Syria, at that time were completely destructive and were suitable for terrorist organizations to open up a lot of space, but the situation that has emerged in Syria now is a situation that makes it possible for all people living in Syria to be hopeful for the future."

Emphasizing that Turkey's Syria policies have been successful, Ala drew attention to the importance of the successes Turkey has achieved in the defense industry in the fight against terrorism.

"WE ARE CONTINUING THE FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM"

Stating, "The addressee of this call is the terrorist organization, and we will see how that addressee responds to this call," Ala made the following evaluations:

"We are already continuing the fight against terrorism. If terrorism continues, we are determined to achieve the goal of a Turkey without terrorism through the method of fighting terrorism, but we wish for these meetings and these calls to yield results and for Turkey to reach the goal of a Turkey without terrorism as soon as possible. May Turkey be able to enter, and enter, among the 10 most developed, most advanced, and most prosperous countries in the world, having freed itself from shackles. May everyone win. May all 86 million people work for Turkey's development and progress, for a more prosperous Turkey, and may that strength be brought together to build that fortification, and may Turkey take more effective initiatives."

Recalling President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visits to South Asia, Ala said, "A small part of our opposition was not pleased with what the heads of state said there, but our entire nation, all 86 million, including the base of the opposition, felt proud. The Prime Minister of Malaysia, who has a very respected place in the Islamic world with his intellectual capacity, said there: 'President Tayyip Erdoğan has made Turkey a global power. He emerged as a transformative power in terms of putting it among the most developed countries in the world and transformed Turkey. Turkey's influence is felt beyond its borders.' This is a very valuable thing."

"THERE IS NOWHERE TO REACH WITH TERRORISM"

Ala drew attention to the fact that there may be intelligence agencies and other states that want to disrupt the process.

"The issue is, in fact, to be able to stand against that. Not to be their toy. Not to be their pawn," said Ala, and continued his words as follows:

"Because first, Turkey's experience has shown that there is nowhere to reach with terrorism. Terrorism gains nothing. It only makes its own mass, whoever it acts on behalf of, pay heavy costs. Indeed, in the Southeast, people and families have paid very heavy costs. Throughout all of Turkey, our martyrs and our martyrs' families have made great sacrifices, but they have kept Turkey one and whole. Now, the duty that falls to everyone here is to abandon the method of terrorism, which has no chance of success from this hour on, to bury the weapons. It is to dissolve this terrorist organization and to end this matter."

AK Party Deputy Chairman Ala emphasized that many reasons could be cited for ending terrorism and laying down arms, but no reason could be shown for it to continue.

Emphasizing that they know which states use and support terrorist organizations, and the long, medium, and short-term goals of those states and effective powers in the region, Ala spoke as follows:

"We will see soon how they will react, what they will do, but we must believe in our own strength, our own accumulation. We have come this far that way. Regarding terrorist organizations, it must also be said: Terrorist organizations are apparatuses, instruments, and pawns to be used from the outside for great powers or effective powers. They use them and throw them away. Therefore, everyone actually knows what they will do, but what Turkey will do is now known by the entire nation.

We all know together that Turkey will walk on its path with policies that take the satisfaction of 86 million as a basis, that there is a government that tries to do everything better for the citizen, that there is a virtuous and conscientious staff, and with what determination our President takes initiatives when Turkey's interests, our people's interests are in question, and when this unity and integrity are in question."

Emphasizing the importance of the process that started upon the call of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and the statements made by President Erdoğan, Ala said, "And now we are continuing on our path in this way. We know that its effects also play an important, decisive role in the construction of a Turkey without terrorism in a result-oriented manner. We also maintain our belief that these initiatives will be concluded."

"WE ESTABLISH OUR RELATIONS WITH EVERY PARTY"

Stating that they have no concerns about whether the weapons will actually be laid down and the supervision of this process, and that it will be seen through observations whether the call is complied with, Ala also emphasized that this is directly related to Turkey's interests in response to the question of how relations between the AK Party and the DEM Party will be from now on.

Ala stated, "We establish our relations with everyone, with every party, when a climate is formed that will truly solve Turkey's fundamental problems. We desire for Turkey to gain an interest, but if our interlocutors abuse this, if our interlocutors abuse sincerity, if they try to impose lack of policy as a policy, if they try to sabotage our goals, prevent the course of events, if they chase after political cunning, political pickpocketing, then we stop it."

Upon the question, "If the terrorist organization refrains from laying down arms for one reason or another, or if it drags this process out more than necessary, would you then expect a second statement from Öcalan?", Ala replied, "Our fight against terrorism is already continuing. It has not been interrupted; we are determined to achieve the goal of a Turkey without terrorism through the fight against terrorism."
