Evaluated with 107 criteria: The neighborhoods with the highest and lowest quality of life in Istanbul have been identified!

In a study conducted by the Marmara Municipalities Union, neighborhoods in Istanbul were evaluated based on quality of life indicators. A total of 107 criteria were examined, including education, health, income level, urban infrastructure, environment, and disaster resilience.

In the study, neighborhoods in the Beşiktaş, Şişli, and Kadıköy districts, which stand out for their central locations, income levels, and urban amenities, ranked at the top. Levent neighborhood in Beşiktaş was shown at the top of the list with a perfect score of 100. Teşvikiye in Şişli took second place with 95.5 points.

NEIGHBORHOODS WITH THE HIGHEST AND LOWEST SCORES

According to the research, the 10 neighborhoods with the highest quality of life in Istanbul were ranked as follows:

• 1. Beşiktaş – Levent (100 points)
• 2. Şişli – Teşvikiye (95.5 points)
• 3. Şişli – Harbiye
• 4. Kadıköy – Caddebostan
• 5. Beşiktaş – Nisbetiye
• 6. Kadıköy – Fenerbahçe
• 7. Beşiktaş – Bebek
• 8. Beşiktaş – Etiler
• 9. Beykoz – Acarkent
• 10. Şişli – Esentepe

At the bottom of the list, neighborhoods in districts located further outside the city center stood out. It was noted that multiple neighborhoods from Sultanbeyli, Arnavutköy, and Pendik were in the bottom 10.

The 10 neighborhoods with the lowest quality of life in Istanbul were listed in the research as follows:

• 2. Silivri – Çanta Balaban
• 3. Arnavutköy – Adnan Menderes
• 4. Çatalca – Gökçeali
• 5. Arnavutköy – Fatih
• 6. Sultanbeyli – Yavuz Selim
• 7. Pendik – Ramazanoğlu
• 8. Sultanbeyli – Mecidiye
• 9. Başakşehir – Şahintepe
• 10. Pendik – Ertuğrul Gazi

It is stated that the research offers an opportunity for comparison at the neighborhood scale, especially for those planning to buy or rent a home. The evaluation revealed that differences in quality of life in Istanbul have become more pronounced between central and peripheral districts.
