Fake police scam involving 1.3 million in Pozantı using FETÖ threat
In the Pozantı district of Adana, individuals posing as police officers took 693 thousand liras and gold worth 600 thousand liras from a 68-year-old citizen. Two of the 5 people caught in a gendarmerie operation were arrested.

In the incident that took place in Pozantı, scammers who called a 68-year-old citizen by phone introduced themselves as police officers. The suspects intimidated the citizen by saying, "You are linked to FETÖ," and demanded the money and gold in their home. The frightened citizen handed over a total of 693 thousand liras in cash and gold worth 600 thousand liras to the fake police officers who came to their door.
REALIZING THEY WERE SCAMMED, THEY RAN TO THE GENDARMERIE
Realizing after a while that they had been tricked, the victim reported the situation to the gendarmerie. Taking action, the Adana Provincial Gendarmerie and Pozantı District Gendarmerie Command teams launched a comprehensive investigation.
CAUGHT IN AN OPERATION
As a result of the investigation, 5 suspects were identified and taken into custody in an operation. While T.M.Y. and Y.E.U., who were referred to the courthouse, were arrested by the on-duty criminal judgeship of peace, the other 3 people were released under judicial control conditions.
