Fire breaks out in Maltepe: 1 person loses their life

A fire broke out in the attic of a building in Maltepe. 71-year-old Emine Odabaşı, who was severely injured by the flames, lost her life at the hospital where she was taken. 

The fire started for an as-yet-undetermined reason in an apartment on the top floor of a 3-story building on Zuhal Street in the Cevizli neighborhood.

Upon notification, fire, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

71-year-old Emine Odabaşı, who was in the home during the fire, was rescued from the apartment by firefighters.

Odabaşı, who suffered from smoke inhalation and burns on her body, could not be saved despite medical intervention at the hospital where she was taken by emergency teams.

The fire in the apartment was extinguished as a result of the efforts of the fire department teams.
